Yes, you can expect some reduction in the iron and manganese levels as a result of using the 7000 neutralizer system. It’s hard to predict exactly how much removal you’ll see though, and it’s likely that it won’t completely reduce the iron and manganese to below staining levels.
Our top choice for removing both iron and high manganese would be a backwashing Greensand iron/manganese filter with potassium permanganate regeneration. I’ve included information on a 1.0 CF system below. However- I think the best first step would be to test your untreated and treated water now, so we can see for certain what effect your neutralizer is having on iron and manganese. Could you send us samples to test here at our lab? If you want to go ahead and mail in water samples to our office in Santa Cruz, we would gladly test your water for free and send a report to show you what action, if any, you should take.
