How to Treat for Sulfur Odors, Iron, and Manganese Without Using Chlorine

I have high levels of sulfur odors, iron and manganese in my water. I don’t want to use chlorine, can I use aeration and the Pro-OX iron filter media to effectively treat my water? We have 3.0 PPM of iron, 0.1 PPM manganese, a pH of 7.4 and no tannins or iron bacteria according to our test results from a water testing company. This is just for my wife and I, two bathroom home.

Dear Mr. Jones,

Yes you can use a two-tank system to handle even extremely high amounts of strong odor and heavy iron. We can suggest the following Maxi-Vent air compressor system followed by a Pro-OX Iron Filter.

The Maxi-Vent aeration package is a high-tech combination of an air compressor pump, a contact tank for aeration, and then a solenoid-operated vent for off-gassing odors.

Maxi-Vent Aeration System, 220 Volt

Maxi-Vent System 220V with air-pump for aeration of water. Use prior to a Pro-OX backwash filter for excellent removal of odors, iron, manganese and sediment.
