How Do I Treat for High Iron and Hardness?

Folks,
I have a problem with hard water and iron. Our well has always had hard water, lately there is some iron as well.  See my attached water test results (pH 7.2, iron 1.8 ppm, hardness 12 grains per gallon). I don’t have any sulfur smell (except occasionally in the hot water heater) or manganese, as far as I can tell.  What do you recommend?

Chris,

One great option for resolving your issues with iron and turbidity is with our backwashing Pro-OX iron filter.  The Pro-OX iron filter is definitely our best system for oxidizing and filtering out manganese and iron.  It lasts a long time- usually around 6 to 8 years before needing to be replaced, and requires no maintenance.

Following that, we would suggest considering a water softener to remove hardness.  It would be best to install a softener in-line to take out the calcium hardness and prevent spotting and white scale and residue.

Then, for eliminating strong odor found primarily in the water heater, we offer our Easy Water Heater Odor Killer Kit.  Please see below for more information and links to our website:
