Mr Rodgers,
The best way to treat your problem water is to use a Stenner chlorine injection pump, followed by a contact/retention tank and a MangOX iron filtration system. After the MangOX iron filter, a carbon filter would remove the chlorine tastes and odors and polish the water. The final stage is the no-salt water conditioner.
The chlorine bleach kills the bacteria and removes the odors, and allows the MangOX iron filter media to remove much higher levels of iron and manganese. The 40-gallon contact retention tank allows for enough contact time for the chlorine to react with the iron and manganese and bacteria. This provides clean, disinfected, odor-free, chlorine-free water throughout the house. These Stenner self-priming chlorine pump systems are definitely easy to install by anyone familiar with basic plumbing and very easy to maintain yourself.
MangOX is a media that utilizes an oxidation-reduction reaction and filtration process similar to Greensand, but does not require any potassium permanganate. MangOX media lasts a long time, typically 4 - 5 years. These filters are fully automatic and use the reliable Fleck 7000 control valve and the advanced Vortech inner distributor system which reduces backwash requirements by 30%:
The salt-free water softeners don’t really remove hardness or soften water, so it is not best to call them salt-free softeners, however we do have “no salt water conditioners”, which treat the hardness scale in the water, so the hardness does not create scale or leave the type of white spots on fixtures. For your level of hardness, these are an excellent alternative to water softeners.

MangOX Iron/Manganese Filter 7000 1.5 CF

MangOX is a media that utilizes an oxidation-reduction reaction and filtration process similar to Greensand, but at a much higher level of performance. Uses the Enpress tank with Vortech distributor which allows the MangOx media to be backwashed at lower flow rates with less water, saving water and energy.
Dimensions: 10" diameter x 61" height 1” or ¾" pipe size
Excellent warranty: 10 years on the MangOX media tank; 5 years on the control valve.
Carbon 165 Series Filter – 1.5 Cubic Foot Size

Includes 1.5 cubic feet of Carbon filter media; and Digital 165 control valve.
All the filter media you need for the system is included. Excellent for use in de-chlorinating water and removing many tastes and odors.
Much longer life and higher flow rates than carbon filter cartridges.
Excellent Warranty: 5 Years on Control Valve & 10 years on the media tank.
Filtersorb System 4.5 Liter, 15gpm:

Since the transformation has taken place the Nanoscopic particles can flow through a plumbing system without attaching to pipes, fixtures, or heating elements.
Dimensions: 15.25” Diameter x 59.5” Tall with valve installed
Here is a diagram showing the system. The salt-free water “softener” or condition, would be installed in place of the water softener shown in the diagram.
