How Many Ounces of Chlorine Pellets or Powder Do I Use to Sanitize My Well?

Hello,

I need to sanitize a well that is 587' deep with the static level at 210. How many 8 oz. kits or how many ounces of pellets and granules should I use to sanitize the well?

Thanks,

Barbara S.

Hi Barbara,

The amount of chlorine needed to sanitize your well also depends on your well's diameter.  If you know your well's diameter, consult the handy chart below to quickly find out how much chlorine to use, in either pellet or granule form.

Note that 100 ppm may not always be the chlorine concentration necessary for well disinfection.  It is, however, a good figure to shoot for in most cases.  To achieve a more precise chlorine residual, consult our chlorine measurement guide.
Once you've determined the amount of chlorine to use for your application, follow the illustration below to sanitize your well and plumbing system with ease.

We hope you find this information helpful.  Simply follow the guides and charts shown here and you should have no problem achieving a perfectly clean well and plumbing system.  If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact us on Facebook or e-mail us at support@cleanwaterstore.com.
