I have acid well water with a lot of iron, which treatment system should I use?

We have a vacation home we use about once a month, and the water is terrible.  I have been told we have acid well water and I know for a fact we have a lot of iron.   We get blue stains on the fixtures and I can smell iron in the water. Which treatment system should I use?  Help!

Chlorination for An Old Well

I have some questions about chlorinating my water.

I've had this well almost 30 years. I don't know how old it is, but there was an old wooden elevated storage tank and a fallen windmill next to the well when I bought the land. It is about 125 feet deep.

What is the difference between Ultra-Filtration UF and Ultraviolet UV?

Question I have is:  What is the difference between UF and UV systems?   I was told by a neighbor that both remove bacteria, but UF does not require electricity.  Which is better for my situation?  I have a shallow well and I am worried than when it rains, I may be getting bacteria into the well from our barnyard area.  Thanks in advance,
