What is the Difference Between a Standard Filter Tank and a Vortex Filter Tank?

Hello,
I am looking at a calcite system, what are the differences between a standard tank and the vortex?   Thank you,
Don

Hi Don,
You are referring to the Vortech Tank manufactured by Enpress.
Here’s our official descriptions of the different tank options:
PolyGlass Tank: This our standard tank, very well made with ABS inner shell and fiberglass exterior.

Mr. Blair

Hello Mr. Blair,

Thank you for contacting us through our website.
Coliform bacteria contamination is a serious problem to deal with, but we can definitely help.  There are a few options available for treating this situation, and the two most common are UV treatment and chemical treatment.

Can I Use a Portable Ozone Generator to Clean Air of Mold?

“I am looking for a portable ozone generator for cleansing the air of mold, etc where I live....but also as I travel. Would this work? I thought it could run while I'm in the room, but your website states not to be in the room at the same time.”

Hello Marcia,

Thank you for contacting us through our website. I’m assuming you’re referring to this Ozone 500-I generator here, is that right?

My Daughter’s Hair Turned Blue ... Help!

Dear Gerry,

I read on your blog about blue staining and well water, and this is just what we are going through. I used to notice a small amount of blue around the drain in the bath tub, but after we put in a water softener, we really started to notice it.

Now we are seeing blue stains on the laundry, and my daughter’s blonde hair has blue streaks in it!  I tested our water with a hot tub pH tester and I think the pH is around 6.5.   My husband had to recently fix a pinhole leak in our copper pipes as well.  Help!

Jennifer T,
Texas

Hello Jennifer,

This is a common problem in well water.  Often the calcium hardness in the water acts as a buffer against the acid well water, and when a softener is installed, the water can become more corrosive.

Can I Use a Water Softener to Remove Both Iron and Hardness?

Dear CWS Support,

Here is my water sample for our well water, please let me know what I need to stop the hard water spotting and white build-up on tiles and glasses.  We also get a little iron staining as well, although it is not as bad as our neighbors. Someone suggested a water softener.  Would this work for both iron and hardness?

Joan C.

Hello Joan,

Your water test results have been completed, please see attached for your records.  Essentially this water has a high level of hardness as well as low levels of iron. The iron is easily taken care of by a heavy-duty Water Softener.

Can I Increase My Pressure Tank Size To Use It As A Contact Tank?

If I increase my pressure tank size to 86 gallon can I use it as a contact tank?

Hello Jay,

Thank you for contacting us through our website.

Well, not exactly. You could certainly try it and it would certainly be better than using a much smaller pressure tank, but compared to a contact tank the results are less consistent.

How to Remove Arsenic for Home Well Water After Injection with Hydrogen Peroxide

Several years ago I purchased a hydrogen peroxide injection system from your company to treat several issues and am very happy with it. I recently had a water test performed which indicated an arsenic level of .032mg/l. Do you have any advice on systems to remediate this that are compatible with my current treatment system?

Hello Mr. Hayes,

Thank you for contacting us through our support feature.

I looked up your order, it looks like specifically you have a Stenner injection pump and tank, 40-gallon contact tank, and a Centaur catalytic carbon filter.  I’m glad to hear that’s working out well for you.
