My Well Was Flooded and I Need to Chlorinate

Hello - I have a well that has been flooded and has bacteria in it.  I did a shock chlorination but it still tests positive for bacteria.  I want to chlorinate this water until the area dries out and the well is back to normal.  I have a ¾ HP pump and I think it pumps around 10 to 15 gallons per minute.  Which type of chlorinator do you recommend?

Our Well Water Odor Drives My Wife Crazy

Sometimes our well water smells bad, like rotten-eggs. I can only barely notice it, but it drives my wife crazy.  I would not call the problem severe, and I definitely do not want to mess around with chlorine or chemicals. I am looking for an aeration system, or maybe just a simple whole house filter. What can you tell me?

Removing Odors from Well Water: Is Hydrogen Peroxide Better Than Chlorine?

Hello there -  Our water stains the toilets and sinks brownish red in a week’s time.  The water smells like sulfur and when the well is heavily used in warm weather, it almost seems like I can taste it. I poured chlorine solution down the well and the smell goes away for a while, but the water tastes worse.

How to Use Ultra-Filtration to Filter River Water

Question for you: We take water from the river to a cistern (2000 L). Then we use powdered activated carbon and ferric chloride to precipitate the color in the water.   Then we pump the water up to a high tank (1000 L) using a 3/4 HP pump. The water is still turbid. We use a heavy metal filter on the kitchen. We believe we need some kind of UF membrane, but we don't know which one to get.  We have two bathrooms, six persons in our home.

How To Treat Well Water With Sulphur, Iron & Manganese

Hey -    Our home is supplied by well water and we have some serious problems.  I am looking for a whole house filtration system that can handle sulphur odors, iron and manganese.  Sometimes our water is black and smells like rotten-eggs.  I have tried water softeners, filters and adding bleach down the well and nothing lasts long.

Whole House Water Filter For Chloramine Removal From City Water

Hi - Looking for info on home activated carbon systems.  Currently using cartridge type that I have to change each month.  I will have a big blue type sediment filter installed upstream of carbon unit.  Electricity and drain are available (for backwash type unit).  No UV filter currently and do not wish to install one if at all possible.  I have 2 bathroom home, wife and 2 kids.  I am concerned about chloramine removal as our city uses chloramines.
