How to Get Rid of Rotten Egg Odor in Water Heater

Sir –  I have a smelly water heater.  It is in a vacation home we use several times a year.  I have tried changing the anode rod and we even replaced the water heater at a few years ago, but every time we go there, the hot water smells horrible, like rotten-eggs or sulfur gas.  The well water is generally good otherwise, we have no odors or staining, except from the hot water!  Help!

Water Testing for Industrial Contaminants in Mexico

My organization is  looking for credible affordable water testing kits that any person can easily test for Industrial contaminations in Well and irrigation systems in Mexico.  We will send to you for analysis and wish to receive results in a timely matter.  We have customers who want to install whole house water filtration systems but we wish to test the water first.  They are mostly in rural areas. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Treatment of Heavy Sediment and Iron content

Gerry - I have emailed you my water analysis. We have a lot of sediment and rust in our well water.  I already have a calcite neutralizer to treat my well water but it doesn’t help with the rust and sediment.  What do you suggest?  I am looking for a whole house water treatment system that can also be used for some light irrigation around the house.

My neighbor says there is no such thing as a salt free water softener.

Hi Gerry -  You have probably seen this before, but we have acidic well water that is also very high in iron.  We think the pH is around 6 and the iron has 4 to 5 PPM, using a home test kit.
